Two additional candidates filed Aug. 27 to run for seats on the Dunwoody City Council. Sam Eads qualified to run for the seat representing District 3, Post 3 and Jim Riticher for the seat representing District 2, Post 2, City Clerk Sharon Lowery said.
Eads is challenging incumbent Councilman Doug Thompson, who filed for reelection Aug. 26.
Riticher will face Heyward Wescott in the race for District 2, Post 2. Adrian Bonser, the incumbent in District 2, Post 2, said during the Dunwoody City Council meeting Aug. 26 that she would announce her decision later this week on whether to run again.
On Aug. 26, the first day of qualifying, Councilman Denis Shortal filed to run for reelection in District 1, Post 1. Challenger Henley Shelton also filed to run for that seat on the council.
In July, Shelton, Eads and Riticher announced their intentions to run for the offices as a slate of candidates. They called themselves the “clean sweep candidates.”
Candidates file with the clerk to take part in the Nov. 5 election. Qualifying continues through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30.
