State Farm Insurance Co. recently bought 3.9 acres at Hammond Drive and Perimeter Center Parkway for use as part of a planned corporate campus, the city of Dunwoody announced.
“The decision by State Farm to make this investment is a landmark occasion, not just for Dunwoody, but the entire Perimeter Center market,” Michael Starling, director of Economic Development for the city of Dunwoody, said in a press release dated Oct. 17.
“State Farm’s decision to locate one of three nationwide operations centers here is a validation of the markets accessibility to employees from throughout the region and its superior transportation infrastructure.”
The 3.9 acres are located just south of the Dunwoody MARTA station. State Farm’s purchase of the land follows the company’s recent purchase of the 10-story Hammond Exchange building and 13 acres of undeveloped land, the city said.
The purchase also comes after the company announced its lease agreement in 2012 for 64 and 66 Perimeter Center East, the city said.
