invest_atlantaA Facade Improvement Program was approved at this week’s Invest Atlanta Board of Directors meeting. The program has earmarked up to $2 million of Westside and $3 million of Eastside tax allocation district (TAD) money  to launch the program which will provide technical assistance and cash grants to property and business owners for the rehabilitation of commercial facades.

Funds will be allocated for improvements that contribute to the visual enhancement of a subject property as viewed from the public right-of-way and include everything from paint and lighting to windows, canopies and sidewalk repairs. Business owners are eligible to receive between $10,000 and $200,000 and property owners are eligible to receive between $20,000 and $400,000. Applicant must invest one third of total project costs. Official documents and application forms should be available late December/early January.
