Traffic is moving again on Moreland Avenue in the heart of Little Five Points after a gasoline leak forced the closure of streets and evacuation of businesses for most Tuesday. Things were returning to normal after 7 p.m., but many businesses had already shuttered for the day.

At first believed to have been a gasoline spill, it was later discovered that a car hit one of the gas pumps at the Chevron station at the corner of Euclid and Moreland causing an underground pipe to rupture and release gasoline into the sewer system. Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, businesses began reporting the strong smell of gasoline inside and outside.
