A Brookhaven woman was arrested and charged with four counts of theft after police found her hiding under a bed.
Brookhaven Police responded to a burglary call on Winding Lane on April 23. After meeting with the victim, officers began canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses, according to a press release from the police department. Officers saw the back door of the house next to the burglarly open.
They entered the home to check on the welfare of the occupants, and found items matching the description of the stolen property. They also found Rebecca Turner, the suspect, hiding under a bed. Officers also found stolen property from car that was broken into on Winding Lane the previous day.
The officers later determined that the house that Turner, 40, was hiding in was her own. The suspect is being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center. Residents wishing to be notified of her release can register at www.vinelink.com.
