Post Properties has proposed a 407-unit apartment complex on a site bounded by Centennial Olympic Park Drive and Baker, Williams and Simpson streets in Downtown. According to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the developer wants the project to echo some of its Midtown projects, such as Post Parkside. It may also resemble another Midtown apartment building called Baltimore Row.
The City of Atlanta is the top bidder to buy Morris Brown College out of bankruptcy with an offer of $14.6 million, according to a report in the AJC. Under the proposal, the city — through its economic development agency Invest Atlanta — will spend $10.625 million and Friendship Baptist Church, which sold its property to make way for the new Falcons stadium, will contribute $4 million. It’s unclear exactly what properties the city will assume in the takeover, but officials previously said Atlanta would gain control of the college stadium, while Friendship would own other portions of the campus.
The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) recognized the Atlanta BeltLine as the best environmental rehabilitation project in the world during their World Conference focused on Building Humanity.
