The Brookhaven Police Department needs the public’s help in identifying a vehicle used in a shooting Monday night, June 23, on Green Meadows Lane. The shooting occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. when a passenger from the suspect vehicle fired shots in to the residence on Green Meadows.

Investigators have learned that a silver or gold small passenger car was slowly traveling north on Green Meadows Lane when it stopped in front of the 2600 block of Green Meadows Lane. The front seat passenger placed his arm out of the front passenger window and pointed an object over the roof of the car toward the residence that was on the driver’s side of the vehicle. At least two shots were fired in to the residence, which was occupied at the time. The vehicle then began to speed away as a neighbor was fleeing on foot after witnessing the shooting. The vehicle came to a stop again and fired at least one shot at the witness. The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed. No one was injured as a result of this shooting.

Investigators canvassed the area in an attempt to gain additional information. A nearby residence was identified with surveillance cameras. Investigators obtained the above image of a vehicle they believe was used in the shooting and are currently working to enhance this photo.

At this point, investigators believe that this was either a random act or the suspect intended to target another location and mistakenly fired shots in to this house.

Anyone with information on this shooting or the vehicle shown is asked to contact the Brookhaven Police Department at 404-637-0600 or the tip line at 404-637-0636. Anonymous tips may also be made through Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.
