A local entertainment company has filed a legal challenge to Tyler Perry’s plans to build a motion picture studio at Fort McPherson. According to a report in the AJC, attorneys for Ubiquitous Entertainment Studios say the company has been planning its own “movie studio entertainment complex” on the Army post for years.
Mayor Kasim Reed today announced the appointment of Michael J. Geisler as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Atlanta. Geisler has been acting as Interim COO since February. Geisler, a licensed certified public accountant with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, has more than 40 years of experience in strategic and tactical management. Deloitte LLP has picked Atlanta as the site of a technology development center — a first of its kind for the global professional services firm.
According to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, New York-based Deloitte will invest “tens of millions” of dollars and create up to 400 high-tech jobs over the next few years at the 26,000 square foot Downtown Atlanta “iLab,” where it will develop software and analytics products for its Fortune 250 clients.
