Traffic will slow this weekend as  it rolls through the former toll plaza on Ga. 400. Georgia Department of Transportation officials say the plan to shift the lanes at that location into their final and permanent configuration, GDOT announced.

The state stopped collecting tolls on Ga. 400 last year and demolished the toll plaza this year.

Traffic lanes through the former toll plaza were moved while the plaza was being demolished. On Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6, weather permitting, the lanes will be relocated onto  the inside, or left, side of the roadway, GDOT said.

Northbound traffic will begin shifting at 10 p.m. on Friday and southbound at 10 p.m. on Saturday, GDOT said in a press release.

“Motorists should slow down and proceed through the areas with extreme caution while the shift is taking place; delays are likely,” GDOT said in its release.
