IndiesFirstBannerA-300x250-091714Atlanta Police need the public’s help in finding out who murdered two homeless men in their sleep. According to a report in Creative Loafing,  both men had been shot to death while sleeping on the streets. The first victim was found between midnight and 1 a.m. on Sunday at a small park at Ralph McGill Boulevard and Courtland Street. The second victim was found Wednesday morning around 9 a.m. near Northside Drive and Whitehall Street. Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.

Grady Hospital is no longer accepting health insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield after negotiations over reimbursements. According to a report at WSB, policy holders will now have to pay out of pocket for treatment.

If you’re out shopping for the holidays this weekend, remember that tomorrow, Nov. 29, is Small Business Saturday and Indies First. Small Business Saturday is a campaign to encourage consumers to support their local “mom and pop” stores, while Indies First encourages literature lovers to shop for books at independent bookstores in the community. Eagle Eye Books in Decatur, Charis Books in Little Five Points, A Cappella Books in Inman Park and Bound to Be Read in East Atlanta Village will have local authors as guest booksellers all day long.
