The City of Decatur has announced that a new bike and pedestrian access point for the PATH trail is open on E. Trinity Place. Access to the PATH trail along E. Howard has been rerouted for the last couple of months due to construction at the Trinity Triangle site. The new crossing is located between the construction site (west) and the triangle where N. Candler Street meets E. Howard (east). Look for the pedestrian crossing beacon and the street paint.
On the heels of a $38 million grant from the Woodruff Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts has also named the Woodruff Arts Center as a recipient of an NEA Art Works grant. The Woodruff will receive a $120,000 grant to support the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art for various projects and exhibitions.
Atlanta-based cosmetic company Anisa International has offered a challenge grant to LifeLine Animal Project, promising to double any donations received from the public up to $25,000. LifeLine manages both the Fulton and DeKalb county animal services and recently announced it has saved the lost of more than 10,000 dogs and cats this year alone.
