Sandy Springs police arrested a man who lost control of his car, crashed into a car wash on Roswell Road and killed a person on Feb. 14, police say.

Malcolm C. Callender, II, 41, of Jonesboro, Georgia, was struck by the car at about 5 p.m. and pronounced dead at Grady Hospital, Sgt. Ron Momon, a spokesman for the police, said in a statement. He confirmed this happened at 5 p.m. on Feb. 14.

The driver, who was later identified as Wilfredo Santo-Serrano, left the scene of the accident and was arrested during the morning of Feb. 15, Momon said. Police located Santo-Serrano at an apartment complex a short distance from the car wash. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail on charges of felony hit and run and first degree vehicular homicide.
