The first time participating in the Positive Athlete Georgia program brought accolades to a Sandy Springs charter school. Three Riverwood International Charter School “Raider” student athletes won the Positive Athlete of the Year award in their sports. 
Pascal Acree won in tennis, Bayne Jarvis in cross country and Danielle Jenkins in swimming. Furthermore, the school won the 2014-15 Positive School of the Year award.An awards ceremony for all of the North Fulton award winners was held May 5 at the Crosspoint Community Church in Roswell. Principal Dr. Robert Shaw and Athletic Director Mike Santoro accepted the Positive School of the Year award for the Raiders.


Positive Athlete Georgia accepted nominations during the school year from parents, teachers and coaches to recognize student athletes whose presence and attitude makes a positive impact on their team and school environment. What makes the Positive Athlete Georgia program slightly different from other local and state awards is that the nominees were not necessarily the most valuable players as measured by records and statistics.
