The demand for tickets for Slide the City, an event that will transform West Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur into a giant slip and slide, has been huge. The event website crashed earlier this week after more than 10,000 individuals joined the registration wait list. Organizers are expecting the July 25 event to sell out.
More than 1,000 feet of padded vinyl will be stretched from Clairemont to West Ponce Place to create the biggest water slide you’ve ever seen.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Decatur Business Association.
