The first meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 11, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Atlanta Metropolitan State College, 1630 Metropolitan Parkway in Southwest Atlanta in the Easley Conference Center Pavilion, located inside the Edwin Thompson Student Center Building #800. Parking is available in the Red Parking Lot.

The second public information meeting will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Passion City Church, 515 Garson Drive in Buckhead.

The zoning code divides the city into districts in order to regulate the physical development of the land within the city and limit the uses to which a property may be put. The regulations include the height, overall size, and placement of buildings on a lot, the density at which buildings may be constructed, signage and the number of parking spaces that must accompany each new building, among other regulations.

“After months of conducting interviews with constituent groups and individuals, the Consultant Team wants to hear from the public about specific concerns as well as broad views regarding the City’s Zoning Code. I hope that many citizens will take advantage of this unique opportunity to give input in shaping our City’s future,” said City Councilmember Mary Norwood, Chair of the Zoning Committee. “It is important to note that these meetings are truly intended to gather information and critical ‘real life experiences’ from individuals who have been involved with or are interested in Atlanta’s development and evolution.”
