The Oglethorpe Museum of Art on Jan. 16 opens an exhibition of embroidered wall hangings, kimonos and other objects from the Japanese Embroidery Center in Dunwoody, it said in a press release.
The exhibit is open through March 6.
The museum, located at Oglethrope at 4484 Peachtree Road N.E., said it also will exhibit a number of Japanese works of art from its permanent collection, including works on paper and porcelain.
The Japanese Embroidery Center, the museum said, was founded in 1989 by Shuji and Masa Tamura to preserve and promote the heritage of Japanese embroidery.
Admission to the museum costs $5. It is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
