Little Five Points had the distinction of being the capital of Tiny House Nation one day last summer, with a vacant lot on Euclid Avenue across from the Bass Lofts being ground zero for another build on the wildly popular show that airs on the FYI channel.
Host John Weisbarth, Special Projects Wizard Zach Giffin and their baker’s dozen of hard-working behind-the-scenes crew rolled into town last August to magically create a 200 square foot tiny house for a pair of lucky young homeowners, Frances Farmer and Greg Richards.
The episode begins airing tonight, April 9, at 9 p.m. on the FYI channel.
Although all homes featured on the show are unique, Serena (the name given to the home by the couple) really is outside the box being a pop-up shop for their SIS clothing line in addition to being their home.
If you are not yet a fan, the show’s premise is the crew descending on a fortunate person or persons who are in the process of building their tiny house. A true tiny house is less than 500 square feet. Over 500 is considered a “small house.” Most of the homes on the show are THOWs (tiny house on wheels), but a few are “ground-bounds,” or built on a permanent foundation.
