Dunwoody City Council voted May 9 to approve nearly $65,000 for the design of the Cotillion Drive proposed multi-use path to include sidewalks and bike lanes between Chamblee Dunwoody Road and North Shallowford Road.
Sprinkle Consultants was awarded the contract for the design for its bid of $54,872, plus an additional $10,000 in contingency funding.
The proposed path was originally part of the Georgetown Gateway project, but was separated so it could be funded locally and constructed sooner, said Mindy Sanders, capital projects manager.
The city plans to replace part of the Cotillion Drive trail with a paved multi-use path in 2017. The road is a major connector to I-285 and the Georgetown commercial district.
