A Windsor Parkway stormwater project delayed by a construction failure will resume under a new contractor, the Sandy Springs City Council decided June 7.
The stormwater work includes a new detention pond. A ditch cave-in in January threatened to undermine the roadway and forced a closure of Windsor at Joslyn Place for nearly two months. The city hired a new contractor to do immediate repairs under an emergency bidding provision.
On March 30, the city rebid the entire project. Hitson Construction was selected with a bid of about $610,000 and approved by the City Council. The work is expected to resume soon.
The council voted to approve the new contract after holding an executive session to discuss “litigation and real estate.”
