Around 10,000 protestors in Atlanta joined a national Black Lives Matter protest on Friday night in a call for justice in the wake of two recent killings of black men by police officers.
The protests remained peaceful throughout the night, though at times tense, as protesters faced off with Georgia State Patrol officers blocking them from walking onto the Downtown Connector, according to CBS46.
Atlanta Police and Mayor Kasim Reed said there were no arrests throughout the night.
Late Saturday, 11Alive reported that the Georgia State Patrol arrested three protestors for blocking the roadway.
Crowds gathered at the Center for Civil and Human Rights before marching to Centennial Olympic Park and other parts of Downtown. Hip-hop star T.I. was among the protestors last night and Mayor Reed also made several appearances to update the media and talk to protestors about their concerns.
