The Georgia Dome in Downtown will be demolished by fall 2017 to make way for parking for the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to WABE. Leaders of the team now building the Atlanta Falcons’ new home say they’re close to choosing a demolition contractor for the Georgia Dome next door to the new stadium site.

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has signed a letter of intent for approximately 50,000 square feet of space at Peachtree Center in Downtown. ARC, the official planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the 10-county Atlanta region, will relocate its approximately 200 employees to Peachtree Center, taking occupancy next summer. In addition to two and a half floors of office space, ARC will lease about 9,000 square feet of conference and community meeting space.
