Brookhaven residents can drop of items through Sept. 9 at the Briarwood Park community center that will be sent to help the victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana.
A local resident, Ted Hall of Cantebury Lane and who hails from Louisiana, is leading the effort to collect and distribute the items. Financial donations can be mailed to Hall at 929 Canterbury Lane, Atlanta, GA 30324.
“It is my belief the residents of Brookhaven will rise to the occasion as they have in the past and be very supportive of this truly worthwhile effort,” said District 4 Councilmember Joe Gebbia in a statement.
Briarwood Park, located at 2235 Briarwood Way, is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
