The Kroger supermarket at 725 Ponce de Leon Ave. – infamously known as Murder Kroger – is dead. Several hundred people turned out last night for a “candleLIT vigil” (which also collected donations to the Atlanta Community Food Bank) in the store’s parking lot to say goodbye. Our contributing photographer Marcos Ordaz was at the vigil and sent in these images. The old supermarket will soon be demolished to make way for a 12-story office building, which will feature a new Kroger as its ground floor tenant.
