
Normal operations have resumed on MARTA after a track fire filled a train with smoke forcing passengers to evacuate and closing the Midtown and North Avenue stations on Thursday night. A MARTA spokesman said a media statement that full investigation in underway to determine the cause of the incident.
Gov. Nathan Deal has signed a campus carry bill, which permits licensed gun holders to carry firearms in specific and limited areas on college campuses. The bill, HB 280, was passed overwhelmingly in the Georgia Assembly, according to a report from CBS46.
An Indiegogo fundraising page has been launched to help raise additional funds to “freshen up” the historic Old Fourth Ward water tower at the corner of Irwin Street and Auburn Avenue. As part of The Cities Project from Heineken and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the more than 100-year-old water tower will be revived inside and out. According to the fundraising page, rubble and garbage will be cleared from inside the tower where a mural will be painted, while outside the structure will be power washed to remove graffiti and new cast iron windows and a door will be installed.
