Music icon Herbie Hancock will headline Jazz 91.9 WCLK’s 43rd Anniversary Fall Benefit Concert on Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Atlanta Symphony Hall. The evening will also be a celebration of the 2017 recipients of the Jazz Legacy Awards. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
The benefit concert is the major fundraiser for the Clark Atlanta University-based radio station.
With an illustrious career spanning five decades and 14 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for “River: The Joni Letters,” Herbie Hancock continues to be a musical pioneer. As the legendary Miles Davis said in his autobiography, “Herbie was the step after Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, and I haven’t heard anybody yet who has come after him.”
