A groundbreaking ceremony for the new state judicial complex was held Thursday on the site of the former Georgia Archives building in Downtown.

According to the AJC, the building will house the newly expanded Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals just down the street from the State Capitol.

The $105 million courthouse, which is set to open in 2019, will include a four-story atrium with giant windows overlooking the Gold Dome. There are also plans build a park to link the complex to the State Capitol.
