When Atlanta Pride falls on an election year, you can be certain of one thing — a heavy presence of politicians throughout the weekend, and especially at Sunday’s parade. This year didn’t disappoint, as a record 35 elected officials and/or candidates took part in the parade, with Atlanta Pride Executive Director Jamie Fergerson telling Georgia Voice that more than a dozen didn’t make the cut in time and were put on a waitlist.
Take a look at this year’s contingent, and keep an eye out for Georgia Voice coverage on the races as election day nears on Nov. 7.
