The Fulton County School District is hosting a community input session on school safety measures March 8 that will be attended by Sandy Springs officials and police.
The meeting will held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Centennial High School, located at 9310 Scott Road in Roswell.
The “school safety summit” is being held in response to a Florida school shooting that killed 17 students and staff members and spurred a nationwide conversation on school safety and gun control.
Sandy Springs Police Captain Mike Lindstrom will be speaking about law enforcement partnerships with the school system, district spokesperson Susan Hale said.
Superintendent Jeff Rose will lead a discussion on current security measures, including the way training, drills and safety plans prepare schools for potential scenarios as well as the investments being made in safety, according to a press release.
Following the speakers, participants will move to classrooms to have small-group discussions and provide feedback on the presentations, the release said.
