CNN reports that 11 former guests of the Sheraton Atlanta hotel on Courtland Street in Downtown have Legionnaire’s disease and 55 probable cases have been linked to the same outbreak.

All 11 cases of Legionnaires’ disease, a form of pneumonia, have been confirmed by testing and no deaths have been reported, according to the report.
While the bacterium causing Legionnaires’ has not been confirmed at the hotel, outside experts are working with the state health department and Fulton County Board of Health  to do testing.
The Sheraton closed July 15 and will remain closed until test results come back from the lab.
