Midtown Alliance is hosting a pair of open houses to get feedback on two street projects. The first is Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 990 Peachtree St. where the public can see designs for a mini-park and intersection improvements for Peachtree Street at Peachtree Place. Another public open house on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m  at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 781 Peachtree St., will be held to share the revised design for the 5th Street Complete Street. After listening to public feedback, the design team revised the concept design with a protected two-way cycle track, which preserves more parking spaces, and added elevation to the previously proposed mid-block crossings in the blocks between Williams Street and West Peachtree Street.

The East Atlanta Library, located at 400 Flat Shoals Ave. SE, will close to the public on Monday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. to begin extensive renovation work. The closing  is part of a two-year effort to redesign and modernize 23 of Fulton County’s 34 libraries. Upgrades  will include new HVAC systems, roofing, upgraded technology, improved layouts, new shelving, study rooms, ADA accessible restrooms, and more. Construction is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
