An all-new, hyperlocal dining experience comes to Chamblee this week.

“Taste Around Town is the only all-inclusive tasting experience for adults where foodies will discover fantastic tried-and-true neighborhood favorites and new ones too,” said Dale DeSena, founder of Taste of Atlanta.

Rough Draft is a media partner of Taste Around Town.

Taste of Atlanta will host Taste Around Town in Chamblee on Nov. 4 and 5 at the Chamblee City Hall.

“We’re thrilled to showcase the many delicious restaurants from Brookhaven, Doraville, and Chamblee communities that offer unrivaled culinary experiences,” said DeSena.

In partnership with the City of Chamblee and Discover Chamblee, this debut event will feature three, three-hour sessions.

In each session restaurants from Chamblee, Brookhaven, Doraville, and the Buford Highway corridor will prepare tasting plates and beverage pairings.

“On behalf of the City of Chamblee, we are excited to partner with Taste of Atlanta’s Taste Around Town in Chamblee as they shine a light on the local restaurant community all around us,” said Chamblee mayor, Brian Mock. “We have many international flavors here and we want the world to discover all the flavors for themselves.”

In addition to the delicious flavors of Dekalb County, the event will also feature:

  • A ‘Best Taste’ contest where attendees will cast their vote for their favorites
  • Cooking demonstrations
  • Live music

Information for and about the restaurant industry will also be provided, including details about the Taste of Atlanta Job Bank.

The Taste of Atlanta Job Bank aims to aid the industry’s current staffing crisis by providing a venue for restaurants to connect with new employees.

“When we talk with chefs and restaurants, finding good employees is always at the top of their list of challenges,” said DeSena. “With an immense number of job opportunities available, Taste of Atlanta is committed to projects that inspire and encourage people to pursue meaningful careers in foodservice to help our restaurant communities be successful.”

Taste Around Town in Chamblee will also highlight two charity partners:

  • The Giving Kitchen, which provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and community resources
  • Second Helpings Atlanta, which helps distribute food to individuals in need and helps reduce hunger and food waste in the metro Atlanta area

Tickets for the event are $70 per person. Session times include:

  • Friday, Nov. 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 5 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
