At 3:04 p.m. on Monday, April 8, Atlanta will witness a partial solar eclipse with the moon blocking out more than 80% of the sun. The solar eclipse will begin at 1:45 p.m. and last until 4:21 p.m. While the 2017 solar eclipse blocked out over 97% of the sun in Atlanta, the April 8 eclipse will still dim daylight enough around town for people to notice something’s up.
Some Atlanta restaurants plan to go into eclipse mode on Monday afternoon offering food and drinks deals and viewing parties. Let’s hope the weather holds because the next coast-to-coast solar eclipse in North America won’t occur until 2045.
Check back for updates to the guide.
