Vegan pizzeria Pizza Verdura Sincera opened over the weekend in the former Zesto space at the corner of Moreland and Euclid Avenues in Little Five Points.

Owners David Smith and Paul Jones took over the historic restaurant building and its rehabilitation from the Livaditis family in 2022. The family closed Zesto after it sustained serious damage when a large tree fell on the nearly 75-year-old structure following two days of severe storms.

Pizza Verdura Sincera will offer monthly specialty pizzas and five Neapolitan-style pizzas made with vegan and all-natural, non-GMO ingredients, including a Margherita topped with vegan mozzarella and a pizza topped with vegan sausage and pepperoni. Also look for desserts like tiramisu and beer and wines by the glass and bottle once the restaurant receives its liquor license.

Smith and Jones, the duo behind commercial real estate firm Trowbridge Partners, also own Smoq’n Hot Grill sandwich shop, which recently closed at the Collective at Coda food hall in Midtown. They hope to relocate and reopen the restaurant by the end of 2024.

Smith and Jones partnered with Chef Hector Santiago to open two locations of El Super Pan at Ponce City Market and the Battery and have served as consultants for other Atlanta restaurants like Farm Burger, Poke Burri, and Lifting Noodles Ramen
