Porterhouse Grill & Pub has reopened after being shuttered in May for operating without the proper business licenses.

The city of Brookhaven confirmed on June 10 that the restaurant at 1410 Dresden Drive has now obtained the necessary licenses it needs to legally operate. According to Porthouse’s Facebook page, a grand reopening was held on Friday, June 7.

Porterhouse opened for business on May 4, taking over the beloved Kaleidoscope Pub which shuttered on April 28 after 14 years in business. The new steakhouse was shut down by Brookhaven Police twice during the week of May 19.

As Rough Draft reported on May 25, Porterhouse had not passed the Brookhaven Fire Marshal’s inspection and subsequently was not issued a business license.

Porterhouse is owned by Anil Sodadasi who operates a second location in Athens. He could not be reached for comment.

Editor’s Note: This story has been edited to reflect the correct name of the restaurant. It’s Porterhouse Grill & Pub, not Porterhouse Grill and Bar. (June 10, 2024; 10 p.m.)
