🗳️ Georgia closed out early voting on Friday with more than four million votes cast. Election Day is tomorrow and you can find your polling location here.

⚖️ A Georgia judge rejected a Republican lawsuit trying to block counties – specifically Fulton – from opening election offices on Saturday and Sunday to let voters hand in their mail ballots in person.

👁️ The U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday it plans to monitor compliance with federal voting rights laws in 27 states tomorrow, including in Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, and Gwinnett counties.

🫏 Vice President Kamala Harris was at a rally in Atlanta on Saturday and then on “Saturday Night Live” where she bantered with impersonator Maya Rudolph. Yesterday, Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz campaigned in Atlanta with R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe.

🐘 Former President Donald Trump was in Macon yesterday where former U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker appeared. At an earlier campaign stop in Pennsylvania, Trump suggested he “wouldn’t mind” if someone had to “shoot through” media members, drawing criticism that his campaign spokesperson rejected.

✅ The economy replaced crime as the top concern facing Metro Atlanta residents, according to a new survey by the Atlanta Regional Commission.

🏫 The two Fulton County Board of Education members who represent Sandy Springs said they were not in favor of closing Spalding Drive Elementary School.

🩺 McAuley Station, a 170-unit affordable housing complex offering healthcare services, has opened its first phase in Sweet Auburn.

🕎 Light Up Dunwoody is raising money for a menorah to honor Rose Lubin, a Dunwoody native who was killed last year while serving in the Israel Defense Forces.

🏈 Kirk Cousins led the Falcons to their fifth win in six games yesterday, throwing three touchdowns in a 27-21 victory over Dallas. The win moved Atlanta to 6-3 atop the NFC South.

1. Fox Theatre awards $500K grants to historic Georgia theaters

🎭 The Fox Theatre is awarding $500,000 in financial support to help preserve historic theaters around the state.

Presented through its nonprofit partnerships program, Fox Gives, the grants offer funding for preservation, facilities upgrades, and technical assistance.

Theaters receiving grants this year include the Canton Theatre in Canton (pictured), The Strand in Marietta, and the Ritz Theatre in Brunswick.

2. La Metro tapas bar opens at Ponce City Market

🍷 Chef Hector Santiago opened his second Ponce City Market restaurant this week, debuting Spanish tapas restaurant La Metro in the former Biltong Bar space.

La Metro joins Santiago’s Latin American sandwich bar, El Super Pan, in the central food hall.

Santiago said that “after falling in love” with the food and wine culture of Spain during his travels, “a tapas bar felt like the right fit” for his next restaurant at Ponce City Market.
