The Georgia Planning Association (GPA), an organization of professional planners that serves communities across the state, has appointed Allison Stewart-Harris as its new president.
Stewart-Harris, currently an associate principal and Planning Studio manager at the Atlanta-based TSW Planning, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture, will commence her four year-term on Jan. 1, 2025.
Her background includes work in “comprehensive planning, redevelopment strategies, land use, transportation and transit-oriented development,” according to a release.
Additionally, the Atlanta resident has garnered experience in military planning, zoning administration, disaster recovery, along with parks and open space system planning.
Prior to her new role, Stewart-Harris previously served as GPA’s vice president of programs and has been involved in a number of initiatives, such as the Urban Land Institute’s Center for Leadership, as well as Arts and Leaders of Metro Atlanta.
