Georgia Production Partnership (GPP) is partnering with a host of entertainment organizations to host Georgia Film Week this year from March 17-21.
Last year, GPP hosted Georgia Film Day along with Georgia House Rep. Long Tran as an attempt to bridge the gap between those working in the film industry and the state’s legislative leaders. This year, GPP and Tran will host Georgia Film Day on March 20 as a part of a larger week-long celebration, according to a press release.
The events are meant to showcase various aspects of the state’s entertainment industry, highlighting local filmmakers, actors, crew members, industry executives, and more.
The celebratory week will culminate with the celebration of GPP’s 30th anniversary. GPP, which started in 1995, was the first organization to lobby for a film tax credit in Georgia.
“The strength of Georgia’s film industry comes from the incredible collaboration between studios, unions, independent filmmakers, and state leaders,” said Darius Evans, the president of GPP, in the release. “We’re excited to partner with so many dedicated organizations to make Georgia Film Week a truly impactful celebration.”
Activities will include networking opportunities, workshops, and more. The schedule is as follows:
- March 17: GPP Legacy Day
- March 18: Diversity in Film Day
- March 19: Union/Workforce Appreciation Day
- March 20: Legislative Day
- March 21: GPP 30 Years Celebration Gala
