Looking for something romantic – or just fun – this Valentine’s Day weekend? Check out this guide to some unique events and dining around Atlanta.
Events
Whole World Theatre
Whole World Theatre in Midtown has two special programs on Feb. 14: At 8 p.m., Whole World presents Love Letters, where the audience submits love letters in advance and the improvisors act them out on stage. Then for the 10 p.m. show, Whole World flips the script with Love Stinks, where improvisors act out stories from the jaded, broken hearted and scorned.
Dad’s Garage
For something a little adult and spicy, Dad’s Garage is hosting “Vavianna Vardot’s Famous Sex Party: Valentine’s Day at the Mansion” on Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 14 at 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Vavianna Vardot (Amber Nash) and featuring Royal Tee, this show features Dad’s Garage improvisers in various states of undress, local comedians, and an unbeatable cabaret atmosphere.
Looking for Love in Little 5 Points
Get a selfie with your loved one at the Heart to Art mural next to Variety Playhouse, then stroll through Little 5 on Feb. 14 with your guide (that you meet at a secret place) and dive into some seriously fun Valentine’s Day experiences, including music, a puppet show, magicians, burlesque and more.
Callanwolde Fine Arts Center
Callanwolde School of Dance is hosting a Valentine’s Day Salsa Social on Feb. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. Don’t know how to salsa? Be sure to show up at 6 p.m. for a lesson.
Lights of Love
Local residents can spread love in a different way on Feb. 14, by taking part in the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Lights of Love at its three hospital campuses. The community is asked to gather at Hughes Spalding at 5 p.m., and at Arthur M. Blank and Scottish Rite at 7:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring flashlights or use the light on your phone to shine up to patients in their rooms above.
Cupid’s Undie Run
Strip down to your scanties on Feb. 15 for the annual Cupid’s Undie Run, the nation’s largest pantless party and mile-ish run for charity. The event raises awareness of neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, and fundraises for NF research through the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF).
The White Chocolate Affair
R&B star Adina Howard will headline this party on Feb. 16 from 8 to 11:30 p.m. at the Georgia Terrace Hotel in Midtown.
