Carbon Performance, a Tennessee-based fitness club known for its wellness offerings, is opening its first-ever location in Atlanta.

The 33,500-square-foot fitness center will open at Westside Paper, a mixed-use development located on Atlanta’s Westside.

Founded by Brent and Victoria Laffey, Carbon Performance offers strength training and cardio equipment alongside a variety of classes such as boot camps, Pilates and yoga.

The gym also provides group training, youth performance programs and a number of wellness amenities including infrared saunas, cold plunges and a smoothie bar, to name a few.

“We’re thrilled to bring Carbon Performance to Atlanta,“ said Brent Laffey. “This location in Westside Paper represents the next step in our mission to provide world-class fitness and wellness experiences in dynamic, inspiring spaces. We look forward to being a part of the city’s thriving Westside and helping Atlantans achieve their health and performance goals.”

Westside Paper, the new home for Carbon Performance, was transformed from a 70-year-old former paper plant into a retail and community hub during the COVID-19 pandemic

Since shifting its focus into a mixed-use space, Westside Paper has signed over 113,000 square feet of new leases in 2024 alone, including a 50,000-square-foot Construction Resources (Home Depot company) showroom, an event venue by Proof of the Pudding (Atlanta’s largest caterer) and a padel facility from the Brooklyn-based Padel Haus.

“Our team continues to bring best-in-class companies to Westside Paper,” said Chris Faussemagne, managing partner of Westbridge (real estate company behind Westside Paper’s reimagining). “We recognized Carbon Performance’s success in Nashville and saw an opportunity to introduce a comprehensive fitness and wellness offering that’s underrepresented in Atlanta.”

Carbon Performance is set to open this summer.
