Beloved Grant Park Mexican restaurant Mi Barrio closed in November after 21 years on Memorial Drive. However, on Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at 2 p.m., the family will be in the Mi Barrio parking lot selling their popular tamales! Bring cash or pay via Zelle. It appears you can also pre-order tamales on Facebook messenger.
Filipino pop-up Seven Fingers Baked Goods, owned by Anthony Fisher, will be at Rebel Teahouse in Decatur on Sunday, Feb. 23, selling ube croissants, ube cheesecake (pictured), and pandesal cinnamon rolls. Fisher also plans to debut his mango danishes topped with sweetened cream cheese and fresh mango.
A new cocktail pop-up launches in March on the patio at Banshee in East Atlanta Village. Led by bartenders Haley Herebia and Zoe Sanchez, Kiddo’s No. Six pops up on the patio every Monday evening, serving a rotating menu of cocktails like a screwdriver martini paired with dishes and desserts such as Coca-Cola short ribs and a berry-laden shortcake. Kiddo’s No. Six, named for the “Kill Bill” movie character Beatrix Kiddo, kicks off on Monday, March 3.
A third location of Three Taverns Craft Brewery called Three Taverns Ponce Brew Terminal will open this fall on the ground floor of the Signal House complex along the Eastside Beltline next door to Ponce City Market. The brewery, distillery, and taproom will also serve food from local barbecue restaurant DAS BBQ, which includes locations in Grant Park, on Collier Road, and a takeout spot inside a container in front of the Forth Hotel.
Asian pub Tang’s Oriental opens inside Politan Row at Ashford Lane in Dunwoody at the end of February. The full-service restaurant, backed by Chef Stanley Wong and Clayton Parker, will serve a variety of Asian and South Asian dishes, including pork dumplings, yakitori, Thai lemongrass wings, a kimchi burger, Korean fried cauliflower, and samosas. Look for cocktails, Japanese beers on draft, and sake from the bar.
Valentine’s Day may be over, but chocolate is forever. In honor of Mardi Gras, Petite Violette is offering a limited-time New Orleans food festival dinner menu. Served every evening at dinner only, from 5-9 p.m., starting Feb. 28, and running through March 15, expect Cajun and Creole appetizers and entrées plus New Orleans desserts. Looking to do more Mardi Gras celebrating? Consider The Big Easy Party at Roaring Social on March 4. Expect live music from Funk Cake Band, themed cocktails like the cherry sazerac, and Cajun-inspired dishes, including jambalaya and beignets. Costumes are encouraged. Lagarde is also offering a Mardi Gras pop-up, including live music, dishes like oxtail gumbo, and specialty cocktails, along with a crawfish and shrimp boil event on March 4. Bold Monk Brewing Company, Ecco, and Bread & Butterfly are just a few restaurants participating in the 2025 nationwide Lamb Jam during February. Offering one-of-a-kind happy hour dishes, think everything from lamb sliders and mole to lamb carpaccio and lamb rillette. Atlanta chefs will also showcase their creations at the Lamb Jam Happy Hour Tour at the Trolley Barn in Inman Park on March 26.
