Good Vibes Ice Cream Shop & Soda Pop, DASH Hospitality’s newest venture in its Funwoody Village complex, will open to the public on Thurs., March 6.
It takes the place of longtime vendor Bruster’s Ice Cream, according to Dash Hospitality Group’s David Abes, who said officials from Regency, which owns the center, approached him with the idea months before Bruster’s closed last November.
“About six months ago, Regency said they were going to make a change and asked us if we wanted the space,” he said in an earlier interview with Rough Draft. “We weren’t thinking about it at all, but when they offered it to us, we said we would love it.”
The dessert shop, located at 5503 Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd., will serve a collection of ice cream, gourmet baked brownies and hand-crafted sodas. Down the sidewalk are DASH’s other ventures (BAR{n}: Booze {n} Bites, Morty’s Meat & Supply, Message In A Bottle and Yoffi ‘All Good’ Food Truck.
“Every week, as guests hang out in the Village, we want our fifth concept, Good Vibes, to be the space where they can get that mid-day treat or come for an end of night celebration,” Abes said in a company statement. “We have already felt the excitement from the neighborhood about our family-friendly, retro ice cream and soda shop experience, and we can’t wait to take care of them just as we do over at the courtyard.”
David’s wife, Julie, owner of the former Batter Cookie Dough Counter (Ponce City Market & Buckhead) will bring back her chocolate chip flavor of egg-free, edible cookie dough to compliment the ice cream, as both a scoop flavor and as a topping, the release said.
Good Vibes will open from 3-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3-10 p.m. on Friday, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Hours will be extended as the season warms up. Visit the Good Vibes website for more information and a deep dive into the menu.
