Longtime Dunwoody High School Head Football Coach Mike Nash, who announced his resignation on social media Feb. 25, will move to the head coaching position at Chattahoochee County High School.
Nash spent the last 10 seasons leading the Dunwoody football program, achieving a 33-64 record with back-to-back playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024.
On X, Nash thanked the Dunwoody community for its support, but said “all good things must come to an end.”
“I’m extremely proud of where we have come in this program, but it has reached the time to step away,” he continued in the post.
According to Georgia Football Daily, Nash will replace Bruce Figgins, who coached the 2024 season at Chattahoochee County. The school is located about two hours south of Dunwoody in Cusseta, GA.
The position has been a revolving door in the past five years, with Pierre Coffey at the helm in 2021 and 2022, Ryan McKenzie in 2022, and Josh Jacobson in 2023.
Nash is taking over a Chattahoochee County football program that hasn’t had a winning record since the 2017-18 season, according to Max Preps. The Cougars were 5-5 for the 2023-24 season, and 3-7 in 2022-23.
Rough Draft Atlanta has reached out to DeKalb County School District officials for information regarding the search for Nash’s replacement and will update the story.
