The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating two separate homicides that occurred in Buckhead and in Downtown Atlanta.
Just after 1:30 a.m. this morning, Sept. 4, officers responded to a person shot at the Mezzo Apartments at 2171 Peachtree Road NE. Upon arrival, officers located a male inside the parking deck with a gunshot wound. Grady EMS responded and, despite life-saving efforts, pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
A male associate of the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, a suspect vehicle was identified and was later located in Cobb County. After a short pursuit, three suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody. Multiple charges are pending as the investigation continues.
On Sept. 2, around 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a person down call at an apartment building located at 484 Centennial Olympic Park Dr. NW. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old unresponsive male with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was not alert, conscious or breathing and was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS services.
The Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
