Registration for the annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K has opened, giving local runners the chance to participate in the yearly race that has become a spring tradition in the city.
The marathon takes place on the morning of April 12, kicking off the Saturday of the 89th Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Atlanta’s longest-running festival to date.
Designated as an official Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Qualifier, this year’s 5K begins and finishes at Piedmont Park, with complimentary mimosas (provided by Cupcake Vineyards) offered to participants 21-years-and-older after they are finished racing.
The free festival, which takes place April 11-13 at Piedmont Park, features live music and entertainment, an artist market, an Atlanta high school art exhibit, food vendors, as well as a variety of family-friendly activities.
Entry fees for the Mimosa 5K are $35 from now until March 15, $40 beginning March 16 and $45 on the day of the race. A free t-shirt is given to everyone that participates in the event.
Interested runners can register for the Mimosa 5K on the Atlanta Dogwood Festival website.
