The YMCA of Metro Atlanta announced that it has opened registration for its 2025 summer day camps.

Available at the YMCA’s 18 metro Atlanta locations (including the counties of Cherokee, Cobb, Coweta, Dekalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett and Newton), the organization’s summer camps aim to “provide a safe and engaging environment where children can build confidence, develop character and stay active,” according to a release.

The YMCA has two different types of camps available for local kids: Traditional camps and specialty camps.

Traditional camps provide children with the opportunity to participate in numerous games, explore the outdoors and take part in indoor learning experiences.

Specialty Camps, on the other hand, focus more on helping kids to develop skills around particular interests, including cooking, basketball, drama and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).

“Our summer day camp programs are designed to keep youth engaged while fostering friendships, curiosity and a love for learning,” said Lauren Koontz, president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. “We take pride in offering programs that build confidence, independence and personal growth, empowering kids to reach their full potential.”

Camps are open to children ages 5-15, with preschool options at select locations.

Programs run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with “Pre-Camp” and “Post-Camp” options available for extended care.

Families can register online or in-person at any of the YMCA’s metro Atlanta locations.

More details about the summer day camps can be found on the YMCA of Metro Atlanta website.
