The Atlanta Police Department is searching for two suspects who pistol whipped and robbed a man along the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail on March 23.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark and was captured on video, which can be watched here via Facebook. The video contains disturbing footage and viewer discretion is advised.
According to the police report, officers responded to 830 Willoughby Way NE in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with a male victim who had apparent injuries from the incident. The male was alert, conscious and breathing and appeared to be disoriented with multiple lacerations sustained to his head and face. He was treated on scene by Grady EMS.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was physically assaulted and robbed by two male suspects, one armed with a firearm. During the incident, one of the suspect’s guns appears to have discharged, but the victim did not sustain any gunshot wounds. Both male suspects fled the scene on foot.
