Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter announced that it raised $142,284 in funding during its 2025 Legacy Builders Celebration.

Held on April 30 at The Atrium in Uptown Atlanta, the annual event raised the funds in support of the nonprofit organization’s ongoing work to help local families that are facing homelessness.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for the Legacy Builders event — it was truly an inspiring and memorable evening,” said Cameron Turner, executive director of Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter. “The generosity demonstrated by our community was extraordinary, with night-of giving exceeding our $25,000 goal, raising $36,624 during the event.”

In-attendance at the Legacy Builders Celebration were various community leaders, longtime supporters and partners, with 67% of attendees opting to make a donation to the cause, according to Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter.

The nonprofit also attributed the success of the event to the contributions of numerous sponsors, including KBP Foods, Caiola & Rose, PullSpark, The Home Depot, King & Spalding, McGuire Woods, Georgia Power and more.

“We are so grateful for the sponsorships, gifts made during the event and for everyone who brought friends and family to learn about our work,” said Turner. “This leadership and commitment continue to be the driving force behind our ability to serve families facing homelessness, and we’re proud to have such dedicated champions in the community.”

In addition to fundraising, the event also featured a fireside chat (hosted by Rose Scott, host of Closer Look on WABE) about numerous community issues, as well as the presentation of the Legacy Builders Award, an honor that was awarded to a former Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter client who “achieved self-sufficiency for themselves and their family,” according to the organization.
