Electric vehicle sharing company Lime has officially launched its newest e-bike model in Atlanta.

The company recently deployed a limited number of new LimeBikes and will scale up over the coming weeks to more than 700, according to a news release from the company.

The news comes as Lime plans to launch more than 10,000 LimeGlider and LimeBike vehicles in nearly a dozen cities across Europe and North America over the coming months.

Lime selected Atlanta to be the first city in the country to officially launch the LimeBike thanks to the city’s continued investments in new infrastructure that make active travel safer and more accessible—from protected bike lanes to pedestrian-friendly paths like the Beltline.

According to the press release, these investments have supported a 62% year-over-year growth in total Lime ridership since the same period in 2024, with e-bike ridership in particular growing over 105%.

“Atlanta is already one of the leading micromobility cities in North America, and we believe it has the potential to grow further,” Carol Antúnez, Senior Manager of Government Relations at Lime, said in a statement. “That’s why we’re thrilled to officially launch LimeBike here, making Atlanta the first city in the country to launch a full fleet.”

The LimeBike is designed to serve riders who may have difficulty pedaling for extended periods, as well as those looking to replace car trips with a more comfortable, two-wheeled option.

Along with upgraded technology and design, the bikes feature easily adjustable seats, a throttle on the handlebars to provide the option for electric assist, and a larger basket.

With a citywide rollout, LimeBikes will support longer trips and expand access to car-free mobility. The launch is a key component of Lime’s broader investment in Atlanta for 2025, which includes growing its fleet, deploying new technology, and improving operations to enhance safety, cleanliness, and the overall rider experience.

Lime riders have taken over 5.5 million rides in Atlanta since launching in 2018, covering more than 6 million miles and securing Atlanta’s place as a top micromobility city worldwide.
