The 40th anniversary Virginia Highland Summerfest returns this weekend, June 7-8, presented by The Virginia Highland Civic Association.

This year’s lineup focuses on showcasing “the hottest new local bands, alongside standout regional acts, bringing a fresh energy to the beloved festival,” according to a press release.

The festival will feature a mix of rock, indie, funk, and blues on the main stage, which will be in a new location at the corner of N. Highland Avenue and Virginia Avenue.

The party actually begins on Friday, June 6, with a kick-off party from 6 to 9 p.m. outside of Murphy’s.

Hours for the festival are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. In addition to live music, the event will feature an artist market, local food vendors, a 5K race, and KidsFest. DJ Sky will be spinning tunes throughout the weekend on the Highland Avenue Stage.

“This year’s lineup is truly special, reflecting our commitment to celebrating both up-and-coming and established talent from Atlanta and beyond,” Karen Isenberg Jones, Summerfest co-chair and Virginia Highland Civic Association Board Member, said in a press release. “We can’t wait to welcome these incredible artists to the stage and create an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.”
