Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA), a nonprofit addressing senior hunger and isolation, has announced the return of its 8th Annual Women’s Power Luncheon, taking place on Sept. 18.
The event, to be held at 1705WEST at 1705 Commerce Dr., together Atlanta’s philanthropic female leaders for a transformative afternoon focused on this year’s theme, “Leading Well: Grounded in Wellness, Thriving in Purpose,” a release by the organization said.
“Atlanta is home to some of the most innovative and impactful women in the country,” said Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, CEO of Meals On Wheels Atlanta. “This year’s luncheon is about refueling our leaders—mind, body, and spirit—so they can continue driving change with vision and compassion.”
The event, which begins at 11 a.m., will be moderated by Rebecca Brodnan and feature a panel of female leaders, including Kimberly Blackwell, D’anne Cagle-Heckert, Kimberly Evans Paige and Marissa Maldonado.
“This luncheon is a celebration of the women who are not only shaping our city’s future but also doing it with purpose, heart, and resilience. We believe that when women lead well, entire communities thrive,” Crusoe-Ingram said.
Tickets can be purchased online, and all proceeds fund MOWA’s meal services program, which fuels the organization’s mission to ensure no senior is left worrying about from where their next meal will come.
MOWA, according to the release, was founded in 1965 to support seniors struggling with hunger and social isolation. Throughout its 60 years, MOWA has grown from a small soup kitchen into an organization that has delivered more than six million lifesaving meals throughout the Atlanta area.
MOWA has expanded its program offerings to respond to other critical needs in the community with multiple services to support Atlanta seniors, including personalized and therapeutic home-delivered and family-style meals, home repair services, an emergency food pantry, and a pet pantry.
